It is not an easy task to find a hiking boot that has just the right combination of comfort, durability, and support like climbing a mountain with a steep slope has. Breaking new hiking boots without painful blisters or tightness is one of the greatest challenges on the way to new hiking boots. First, I had the Sawtooth X Mid slightly fitted, particularly in the forefoot, which is not very comfortable to the hiker with broad feet. The initial few increases were solid underfoot and the break-in was felt.

Real Trail Experience
One thing is to appreciate boots on paper, but the truth is on the trail. During my strolls across the mixed terrain, such as gravel walks and wet woodland, the Sawtooth X Mid offered me a reliable walk all the way. The cushioning reduced fatigue and the traction remained similar even when descending a steep hill.
The only negative point I could notice was some slight stiffening in the first few miles, but after the break-in, they became very comfortable. When you’re climbing long hikes or weekend backpacking adventures the Sawtooth X Mid will do exactly what you would expect of a high quality hiking boot; it will be stable, secure, and adventure ready.

There are various brands that claim to offer the best hiking boots and it would be so easy to get caught up in selecting the appropriate one. Although there are more recent models such as Hoka Anacapa 2 Mid GTX or Keen Targhee IV that are lighter in weight, the Oboz Sawtooth X Mid has become famous due to its stability and durability. It is not the lightest or lightest boot, but it is the one that will serve your feet a long time.
